Momento Mori Fistful Of Flowers 2024
Momento Mori Fistful Of Flowers 2024
Moscato Giallo & Vermentino grown by the Chalmers family on the slopes of Mt Camel in Heathcote, Victoria and a small portion from their Merbein vineyard further north.
It was a great season and fruit this year was of a very high quality when it came off the vine which has resulted in a very well balanced wine.
Long steady ferments in 100% stainless, approximately 2 weeks on skins, pressed, aged in stainless. Racked only once prior to bottling. An expressive whack of florals on the nose, perfumed stone fruits, musk and spring blossoms. The palate being pretty much the antithesis of this. Fresh and pure with a cool slated steeliness and a fine salinity to keep it all together. All at a refresh.

About MOMENTO MORI
Husband and wife team Dane and Hannah Johns are behind Momento Mori in the fertile oasis that is Gippsland, Victoria. Their ambition is simple: To make wines with integrity that he wants to drink themselves. The first vintage was 2013, and since then, they have in record time created a reputation that has made their wines some of the most sought-after in their category.
The grapes come from small plots scattered across Victoria, and they only work with farmers who fully share their views on biodiversity and sustainable work in the vineyard. In the cellar, they work extremely carefully and patiently with small cuvées, slow fermentations without any kind of additions, no use of pumps, no casks, no fining or filtration and absolutely no added sulphur during the whole process. Dane and Hannah believes that the addition of sulphur, even in very small amounts, is completely unnecessary if you have done your vineyard work properly and take your time in the cellar. The result is unmistakable. The wines of Momento Mori are vibrant, full of life and aromatic complexity while always exhibiting impressive purity and precision.
